Why wedding gifts are hard

The process uses each letter's numeric value (A=1 through Z=26). The letters in a name are summed and fed through the golden angle formula: sum × 137.508° mod 360. This produces a hue. First name determines Red. Middle name determines Green. Last name determines Blue. Two people produce six colors.

Those six colors become the entire palette. You choose an artist style: Van Gogh, Monet, Klimt-adjacent, Basquiat, and others. The AI generates four paintings using only those six colors in that style. The final piece is a visual portrait of both people without depicting either of them.

For a couple with warm-leaning names, the palette tends toward golds, oranges, and deep reds. Cool-leaning names produce blues, teals, and muted greens. Most couples are surprised by what their names compute to. That surprise is part of what people talk about when they describe the gift.
